ORIGINAL STORY:

10 San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies were placed on paid leave Friday after video showed them beating and kicking a suspect.

The suspect, who has been identified as 30-year-old Francis Pusok, took off in a vehicle. He then abandoned his vehicle, and took off on foot, which led to him stealing a horse...And that's where the video starts.

You see the suspect trying to get away from deputies, while on horseback. The video was captured by a news chopper.

Police used a taser to subdue the suspect, who was believed to be the prime suspect in an identity theft case. Once he was the ground you see him put his hands behind his back, and then two deputies starting punching and kicking him. Additional deputies joined in on the beating as well.

Sheriff John McMahon made the announcement regarding the deputies being placed on leave, as reported by The LA Times. McMahon said, "I am disturbed and troubled by what I see. It does not appear to be in line with our policies and procedures".

The FBI has opened a civil rights investigation into the incident as well.
