This week it's a special edition of the WPDH Soundcheck as we remeber the late Walter Becker, co-founder of Steely Dan who past away last week with some of his best work with Donald Fagen live, plus Supertramp and Eddie Money.  Sunday night at 10pm on 101.5 WPDH and the WPDH app.

Walter Becker met Donald Fagen right here in the Hudson Valley as both were college students at Bard College in Annandale-On-Hudson, NY.  They formed club bands throughout their time there, even featuring comedian Chevy Chase on drums.  After leaving Bard and graduating in 1969 they went to New York and went to work in the infamous Brill Building writing music for low budget films and for other music singers.  T

They would move to California to start their music careers and their first album as Steely Dan was "Can't Buy A Thrill", which lead to 8 other album and 4 grammy awards.  They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.  Becker died last Sunday of unknown complications in Hawaii where he lived.  He was 67.
