This week we remember the late Chris Cornell of Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog with a special edition of Soundcheck.  Plus John Mellencamp and Joe Cocker.  Sunday night at 10pm on 101.5 WPDH and on the WPDH app on your smartphone.

Cornell passed away early Thursday morning May 18th of an apparent suicide according to the Wayne County, MI medical examiner.  He was 52.  Soundgarden started as a band in 1985 but didn't gain success until the Seattle sound broke through in the early 90's and their album "Superunknown" in 1994 and the album debuted at #1 on Billboard's Music Charts.  You'll hear rare performances from Soundgarden and one from Temple of the Dog plus Chris in his own words talking about Soundgarden.

We also selected Joe Cocker for this weekend on what would of been his 73rd birthday on Saturday.  Joe's performance of The Beatles "With a little help from my friends" is one of the greatest performance of Woodstock 1969.  You'll hear him do that song albeit from Lowell, Massachusetts and another gem as well.  Make sure you tune in.
