Highway to Hell was released in July of 1979 on Atlantic Records. It was the last album to feature singer Bon Scott who died the following year on Feb. 19 1980 and it became the first AC/DC album to break the U.S. Top 100, eventually reaching No. 17 on the charts. It propelled the band into super stardom and is the second highest selling AC/DC album next to Back in Black going 7 times platinum. Highway to Hell is considered by many to be one of the greatest hard rock albums of all time.
