Yonkers Brewing Company has embarked on an interesting experiment that showcases the variety of flavors a single style of hops can bring to a beer.

John Rubbo from Yonkers Brewing shared his Centennial Single Hop Pale Ale with us this morning. It's just one in a series of Pale Ales that use different varieties of hops.

Usually, brewers add a blend of different hop varieties to their beers, blending their unique aspects of bitterness and fruitiness. But for this project, Rubbo has kept the recipe exactly the same for each beer, except for using a different style of hops in each one.

The Centennial Pale Ale showcases the bitterness and earthy qualities of the Centennial hops. By tasting this beer, it's easy to pinpoint the flavors of the centennial and identify what other beers use the ingredient.

Those who wish to do tasting of all 5 different pale ales, using different varieties of hops in each, can stop by Yonkers Brewing Company on Main Street in Yonkers and order a flight.
