Wanted Hudson Valley Sex Offender Found Living At Local Motel
A wanted Hudson Valley sex offender, who evaded police for months, was found living at a local motel.
On April 6, 2017, deputies from the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office attempted to verify the address of 50-year-old Clarence A. Perrineau of Napanoch.
An investigation determined that Perrineau, a Level-2 sex offender, no longer lived at his registered address, and had not been living there for several weeks, police say.
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Tuesday, Perrineau was found and arrested at the Super 8 Motel on Washington Avenue in Kingston.
Perrineau was charged failure to register as a sexual offender, a felony. He was arraigned in the Town of Hurley Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
In 2005, Perrineau was convicted for raping a female under the age of 17. He was sentenced to 1.5 to 3.5 years in prison, according to the New York State Sex Offenders database.
Level-2 sex offenders are considered to have moderate risk of a repeat offense.
