Upper Hudson Valley Man Had Illegal Weapons Cache, Police Say

Following a domestic incident, an upper Hudson Valley man was arrested after police say they found him in possession of a number of illegal weapons.

Shawn J. Butterworth, 38, of Catskill was charged with unlawful imprisonment and multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

According to State Police from Catskill, troopers responded to Butterworth’s home following reports of a domestic incident that happened at his home on Tuesday. While on the scene, authorities allegedly discovered a large collection of illegal weapons in Butterworth’s possession.

Following his arrest, Butterworth was arraigned in the Town of Catskill Court and was remanded to the Greene County Jail on $25,000 cash bail $50,000 bond bail. He’s due back in court on Friday.
