A federal appeals on Monday ruled in favor of the NFL in the 'Deflategate' case, by reinstating Tom Brady's original 4-game suspension.

According to CNN, the NFL said:

We are pleased the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled today that the Commissioner properly exercised his authority under the collective bargaining agreement to act in cases involving the integrity of the game. That authority has been recognized by many courts and has been expressly incorporated into every collective bargaining agreement between the NFL and (the NFL Players Assocation) for the past 40 years.

Brady is due to miss the opener against Arizona Cardinals, as well as match-ups against Dolphins, Texans, and Bills. Brady will return for the Pats match-up against the Cleveland Browns on Oct. 9. Jimmy Garoppolo will be the starting QB for the games Brady will miss.

The league's initial discipline was handed down last May, but a U.S. district Judge ended Brady's suspension prior to the start of the 2015 season.
