Thursday, December 31: Rock n Roll Birthdays

Happy Birthday today to bassist Tom Hamilton of Aerosmith. He's 64. Other rockers celebrating today include Burton Cummings of The Guess Who (68), guitarist Andy Summers of The Police (73), and guitarist Scott Ian of Anthrax (52).

Tom Hamilton is best known as bassist for Aerosmith and co-writer of some of the band's classic songs including "Sweet Emotion", "Janie's Got a Gun", and "Kings and Queens". Aerosmith is the best selling American rock band of all time with album sales of over 150 million worldwide. They hold the record for most certifications by an American group with 25 gold, 18 platinum, and 12 multi-platinum albums. The band has been performing and recording for over 45 years.
