Texas - Two sisters set up a lemonade stand to earn money to buy a Father's Day gift, but were shut down by police demanding a permit.

Andria Green, 8, and her sister, Zoey, 7, were trying to earn $105 to buy their dad tickets to the waterpark. The girls were selling lemonade for .50 cents, and kettle corn for $1.

About an hour after opening their stand, the police showed up and told the girls they needed a permit to sell the lemonade. The girls were told they needed to go to City Hall for the permit, and officers agreed to waive the permit fee of $150.

According to a Texas law, the sale of food that requires temperature control to prevent spoiling is illegal without a permit. Bacteria can grow in the lemonade, as reported by Yahoo.

The girls' decided not to get a permit, and will instead set up a lemonade stand, with free lemonade, donations welcome.
