Police are letting local residents know about a registered sex offender's move in the Hudson Valley.

Kingston Police say Eric Briglia recently moved to Broadway in Kingston. The 51-year-old previously lived on St. James Street in Kingston.

According to the New York State Division of Criminal Services sex offenders database, in February of 2004 Briglia had sex with a 16-year-old female he knew. He was convicted of rape in May of 2004 and sentenced to serve 1 to 3 years in prison.

Briglia is designated as a predicated sex offender. According to the database, a predicate sex offender is a sex offender who has been convicted of a sex offense when the offender has been previously convicted of a sex offense.
