Police: Hudson Valley Man Kicked Out of Bar, Returns With Rifle

A Hudson Valley man who was kicked out of a bar, is accused of returning to the tavern with a rifle and allegedly stated, "What are you going to do now?"

On Friday around 10 p.m., Sullivan County 911 received a report of a man with a rifle at Dutch's Tavern in Rock Hill.

Multiple units from the Sheriff's Office, State Police and Monticello PD responded to the scene. Witnesses told police that a white man with a beard, who had been removed from the premises in the past, attempted to enter the bar again. When he was advised that he was still banned from the bar, he left.

A short time later, the man returned with a long gun and allegedly stated, "What are you going to do now?"

Customers ran inside the bar and called 911. An investigation led police to allege the suspect was 44-year-old Paul J. McCombs of Rock Hill.

A 12 gauge shotgun and an AR-15 rifle were later found inside McComb’s apartment, police say.

McCombs was charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon with intent to use unlawfully, felonies. He was arraigned in Town of Thompson Court and committed to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
