A Hudson Valley man is accused of driving drunk on two occasions less than 24 hours apart.

At Friday around 9 p.m., Monticello police, along with New York State Police, allegedly noticed a 2007 Dodge Caravan driving in erratic manner on Forestburg road in the Village of Monticello.

Following the traffic stop, 50-year-old Ivan Velasquez of Monticello was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated after a test of his blood alcohol content was .21%, police say. He was released on an appearance ticket.

On Saturday around 8:20 p.m., Velasquez was stopped again by police after he was allegedly observed driving the same vehicle on the same road in an erratic manner.

This time a chemical test given to Velasquez at the Monticello Police Station showed his BAC was .27%, police say.

Velasquez was again charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated. He was remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on $5,000 bail pending further court action.
