Police: Dead Body Was Dragged by Barge Up Hudson River
The body of a Dutchess County man was dragged by barge up the Hudson River.
The body was pulled from the river on Tuesday, in Bethleham, NY. The body was identified as a Dutchess County man who was reported missing on January 19, with state police, in Wappingers Falls.
Reported by The Record Online, David Betterton Jr., 41, became attached to a barge that was coming up the river from New Jersey, and dislodged in Albany, while the barge was docked.
Betterton died of blunt-force trauma and asphyxia due to drowning. Foul play has been ruled out.
