Police: Carmel Chamber of Commerce Director Facing Felony Charges

The head of the Mahopac/Carmel Chamber of Commerce has been arrested for the alleged misappropriation of funds from the organization. 

Erin E. Meagher, 26 of Brewster, NY was arrested Tuesday, and charged with Grand Larceny in the fourth-degree, a felony.

Meagher served as the CEO and Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, and it was in that capacity that she allegedly misappropriated funds of the organization for her own use.

She was processed at the Sheriff's Office in Carmel on Tuesday afternoon, and released on an appearance ticket directing her to answer the charge in the Town of Carmel Court early next month.

If convicted of the felony charge, the defendant could face up to four years imprisonment, a fine up to $5,000, and an order to pay restitution.
