Green spaces in our towns and villages are really important to a lot of people. You can see concerts at some, go on picnics, or simply grab a book and get away from it all. There's a lot you can do in our local parks, but hunting isn't really the first thing that comes to mind, at least for most people.

According to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, apparently four men thought it would be okay to do just that on park property in the Town of Warwick.

On January 22, a NY Environmental Conservation Officer received a call from the Town of Warwick police in regards to four men, with dogs, hunting in the town park. They met the police officers at the suspects' vehicles, where they decided to wait instead of tracking them down in the park.

When the men returned to their vehicles, they stated they had been rabbit hunting and had valid hunting licenses. However, the DEC discovered an issue with their deer tags. Each man received a ticket for hunting on posted property and for possessing a gun on town property. They're due in court at a later date.
