A Newburgh man is behind bars after police allegedly found heroin, cocaine and more in his home.

On Tuesday, New York State Police Troop F Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, State Police in conjunction with the City of Newburgh Police Department conducted a drug investigation which resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a home on South Williams Street in Newburgh.

Police allegedly seized 16 grams of crack cocaine, 17 grams of powder cocaine, approximately 5 grams of heroin and 8 ounces of marijuana.

Sheldon L. Tompson, 33, of Newburgh was charged three counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, felonies, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of marijuana, misdemeanors.

Tompson was arraigned in the City of Newburgh Court and remanded into the custody of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in lieu of $50,000 cash or $50,000 secured bond.
