The owner of a New York State brewery has plead guilty to fraud, which resulted in the theft of almost $400,000 from his customers.

NCPR News reports that Mark Gillis, a 47 year old stockbroker and the owner of two New York breweries, plead guilty to fraud. Gillis admitted to buying shares of stock and then selling them to three customers in 2012 with a 280% markup in price.

The FBI and the US Attorney's Office in Albany announced yesterday that Gillis accepted a plea deal. After admitting guilt of securities fraud Gillis could face up to 25 years in jail.

Gillis is the owner of Blue Line brewery with two locations in the Adirondacks. One in Potsdam and the other in Saranac Lake.  According to their website, the brewery was formed in 2012 and eventually opened their first location in 2014. According to  Beeradvocate.com, the brewery has a rating of "okay" withe a score of three out of five stars.
