My Lost Treasure: Percy Sledge

The theme on My Lost Treasure is the Five Ws. Who, What, Where, When, and Why. Not necessarily in that order. We are playing them in the order that I think of them and get requests for them. Today it is a "when" song. And it's an old one.

Today's pick is a super soulful and romantic tune made famous in the mid 1960s by Percy Sledge. I am not sure if I know the song from my very early childhood or just from hearing it over and over through the years. I think I really came to appreciate this song when I was working at an oldies station in the early 1990s. That's when I really became familiar with so many of these great old songs. Michael Bolton did a successful version of this song also. But we are not going to go there. Ever.
