Today is February 3...also known as the day the music died.   It was February 3, 1959 that there was a plane crash near Clear Lake, Iowa that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and  The Big Bopper.

Years later, Don McLean wrote a song about the tragedy called American Pie.  Or it was at least inspired by the tragedy.  The song went on to become a huge hit, and it also taught a bunch of us all about those great musicians that helped make rock and roll what it is today.

So in honor, and in memory of those lives that ended way too soon, I'm featuring American Pie as today's lost treasure.
