Man Breaks Into Home in Broad Daylight in Search of Prescription Pills
A Columbia County man is facing felony charges after he allegedly broke into a home searching for prescription pills.
At approximately 10:30 am Monday, Troopers were dispatched to a report of a burglary in the Town of Claverack. The caller reported that someone forced entry into his residence and rummaged through his medicine cabinet.
The arriving troopers observed the forced entry, where somebody had cut out the screen to a window and broke into the residence. Upon entering the residence, it was apparent that the subject was looking for prescription medications.
The investigation revealed that Jason L. Calderon, 26, of Philmont, NY was the subject that forced his way into the residence.
Calderon was arrested and charged with Burglary in the second-degree. He was arraigned and remanded to Colombia County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
