Have You Noticed Long Lines at New York CVS Stores?
Why have the lines at New York CVS stores gotten so long?
Back at the beginning of October, I shared a story about witnessing something crazy while waiting at the CVS store on Route 9 in Poughkeepsie, NY. As I was waiting for them to fill my prescription, a woman started freaking out about how long it was taking the staff to work their way through all of the customers that were waiting. She lost her mind on the poor person working behind the counter, with most of us watching with our jaws on the floor...LOL!
Long Lines at Hudson Valley CVS Stores
The woman flipping out at the Poughkeepsie CVS was a month ago! How are things going at the same CVS a month later? Even WORSE!! I try not to be that guy who spotlights negative things that happen when it comes to shopping because I understand that sometimes we have to wait and I'm OK with it, BUT after the day I had yesterday at the same CVS I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed a change at their CVS.
Have the Lines Gotten Longer at Your CVS?
As you can see in the picture above, the line for the pharmacy at the Route 9 CVS in Poughkeepsie yesterday was the length of the entire store and because I needed to get my "script" today, I had to insert myself into the line and wait, and wait, and wait...you get the idea...LOL! While waiting I must have watched at least 20 people walk in, see the line, and walk back out of the store. I've waited in long lines before but nothing like this.
Many of the people waiting in line were talking amongst themselves about the length of the line saying that over the last few months, it's gotten worse and worse. One lady said that she'd been in the store waiting for over an hour and a half (she was 3 people ahead of me, so she had another 45-minute wait...LOL.) When I finally got up the counter after waiting well over an hour I noticed that all the registers were going and they had a bunch of people working hard so I don't think it's a worker shortage issue, but what do I know???

Are All CVS Stores Like This?
Is this happening at any other CVS stores in the Hudson Valley? If you've noticed this at the CVS store you shop at let me know by emailing me at CJ@HUDSONVALLEYCOUNTRY.COM. I might use your story in an upcoming article. We have reached out to CVS asking if they can explain why this is happening but haven't heard back yet. When we do we will update this article with any information they provide.
