[VIDEO]: New York Police Rescue Dog from Devastating Fire
New York State Police (NYSP) put on a different kind of hat this weekend as they helped extinguish a devastating housefire in upstate New York.
The flames, which had totally engulfed one home and begun to spread to a neighboring house (below) were fought by several NYSP officers. While the fire damage was extensive, officers shared a silver lining amidst the destruction.
New York State Police Assist with Massive Housefire in Lockport, NY
"Lockport Troopers assist[ed] Fire Departments with a devastating [fire] in Lockport... Troopers broke down the door and rescued a dog and assisted with the fire hoses", the NYSP shared on Facebook. Video (below) not only shows the extent of the damage, but the surprisingly low number of emergency responders on scene.

While there were plenty of jokes in the comment section about the officers finally being able to do their "dream job" of being firefighters, each was followed up with sincere words of thanks. No doubt the homeowners whose dog was saved from the blaze had equal admiration.
