Happy Independence Day!

Not only is it the Fourth of July, but this weekend is also the weekend of the final Dead shows.  The Fare Thee Well Shows with the remaining members of The Grateful Dead are happening right now in Chicago.  Our freedom is certainly worthy of a celebration...and The Dead were a big part of my life.

A lot of people thought I might be headed to Chicago, but the truth is, I'm a huge Jerry Garcia fan.  I recognize the talent of the whole band, and there are tons of Bob Weir songs that I love, but...it's just not the same for me without Jerry.

I tried, really I did.  I went to see The Other Ones, and The Dead, and whatever else they after Jerry died.  It wasn't the same.  But the concerts are something to celebrate.  Here's a song that fits today's celebrations...and includes Jerry.
