Facebook announced Tuesday that they are partnering with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, to send Amber Alerts to the Facebook community.

With the partnership they will be releasing AMBER Alerts to people's news feeds in targeted search areas after an alert has been issued from the National center. The alerts will including information about the missing child.

People will be able to link directly to the National Center's missing child poster, which always has the most updated information available. People will be able to share the link as well.

This will work on both mobile and desktop devices. People have used Facebook to post articles about missing children for a long time now, and it is very effective.

I personally think that this is awesome, and I believe that this initiative will help find many missing children, and hopefully prevent abductions from happening in the first place.
