Singer David Cassidy stopped his recent Hudson Valley concert to yell at a fan.

The former Partridge Family star was appearing at the Paramount Hudson Valley in Peekskill on Friday night when things took an ugly turn.

Cassidy was just finishing up a song when he noticed someone in the audience filming him with their flash on. To be fair, illegally filming a show and forgetting to turn off the light is pretty dumb. But what happens next is kind of unusual.

Instead of just calling out the fan to turn off the phone Cassidy threatened to walk off the stage. In the video that's now been posted in all over the Internet, the singer says "Turn it off and turn it off now" before calling on an usher to to remove the fan. Cassidy then goes on to say if the person isn't removed he would not continue the show.

While waiting for security to intervene Cassidy continues to yell at the audience member, explaining that he's had five eye surgeries. While the uncomfortable yelling continues someone can be heard in the crowd yelling "close your eyes!" presumably trying to get the singer to shut up and continue the show.

The fan was eventually removed from the show and Cassidy yelled a final "thank you" while throwing up his hands in exasperation.

Apparently everything was fine after that. The Paramount Hudson Valley even has a gallery of photos that shows Cassidy happily posing with fans after the concert.

This is not the first time David Cassidy has run into controversy in the Hudson Valley. In 2014 he was arrested for DWI near Albany. The singer plead guilty and agreed to a deal that included 50 hours of community service.
