Catching Fish In The Wappingers Creek With Hand-made Flies
Wappingers Creek is the longest creek in Dutchess County. It winds along for more than 40 miles and offers up some great fishing in places. Footage recently uploaded to YouTube shows some expert fishing in Poughkeepsie with a homemade twist.
YouTube user Immortan John went along with guide Evan Kinter as he used his own hand-made flies to catch fish. They had a pretty solid day catching brown trout, rainbow trout, and smallmouth bass.
They had such a great time, you'll see at the end of the video why they had a hard time getting back to the car. It's definitely easy to lose track of time when you're having a good time on the water.
Will you be joining us at the Northeast Outdoor Sports Show? There will be all kinds of activities and vendors for fisherman. We'll even have a fishing pond on site where you can try to catch yourself a trout.
If you're interested in giving fly fishing a try for yourself, you can take Fly Fishing 101 with Kenco every Saturday at 10 AM. They offer fly tying classes as well.
