A staggering statistic shows that in 2022 U.S. traffic deaths hit a 20-year high.

According to NBC News, traffic safety experts say the number of overall accidents has been trending in the "wrong direction." Here in the Hudson Valley drivers are more likely to find themselves in certain types of crashes than others.

O'Connor & Partners Personal Injury Attorneys say that rear-end, bicycle and pedestrian accidents are the most common dangers on the road. They're followed by drunk driving and distracted driving accidents. These crashes can result in injuries such as fractured or broken bones; cuts, bruises or lacerations; Whiplash or soft tissue injuries; concussions and traumatic brain injuries; internal organ damage; airbag injuries and more.

Surviving one of these accidents can leave victims to deal with disability, disfigurement, vision or hearing loss, back or spinal cord injuries, heart attack, stroke, paralysis, permanent disability or even death.

Hopefully, you'll never have to deal with the aftermath of a car accident, but if you do, O'Connor and Partners say they can help find answers and pursue financial compensation.

Just this month, O'Connor and Partners helped a Hudson Valley woman agree to a $750,000 settlement for injuries sustained in a two-car accident. In December an Ulster County man settled for over $2.6 million for injuries he sustained in a motor vehicle accident. And over the recent holidays, an Orange County man settled for just under $1.5 million for injuries from a 2022 accident with the help of O'Connor and Partners.

O'Connor and Partners urge accident victims to avoid settling with the insurance company before consulting a lawyer. They say that many people who suffer injuries may be entitled to far more money than they realize.

O’Connor & Partners doesn't charge a legal fee unless they get their clients' money first. You can find out more by contacting their offices in Kingston, Newburgh, Poughkeepsie and Saugerties.
