Fiat Chrysler Automoblies is recalling roughly 230,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees.

There is a software problem that is causing the vehicle's airbags to deploy when there is no real risk of a crash. Jeep dealers will replace the software that designed to detect an impending rollover accident.

There have been a few cases of the side airbags deploying when the vehicle has encountered off road terrain, or other manuvers that made the vehicle tilt to the side.

The vehicles involved are roughly 170,000 model year 2014 and 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokees in the United States. Also included are 20,000 in Canada, 4,000 in Mexico, and 36,000 outside of the North America.
