Autism Awareness Month: Separating Myth From Fact [ANIMATION + VIDEO]
April is National Autism Awareness Month. Townsquare Media has partnered with Anderson Center for Autism to help raise public awareness about one of the fastest growing developmental disabilities in the United States.
Anderson Center for Autism, founded in 1924, provides services and support for individuals with autism and their families. The agency operates a school and residential program for children at the Center’s Staatsburg campus. Students enrolled at Anderson receive educational and clinical services and learn important practical daily living and socialization skills in a supportive environment.
Anderson Center also offers residential and day habilitation programs for adults through its Lifelong Learning Centers in the Hudson Valley. Here, adults with autism continue practicing and developing social and life skills while being integrated into the community to the fullest extent possible. Anderson Center partners with businesses and community organization throughout the Hudson Valley to provide meaningful vocational and life experiences for adults enrolled in its day or residential programs.
