A 100-year-old woman hit a, 84-year-old man with her car while he was trying to cross the road this week.

The woman, Kathryn Schneider of Saugerties, was driving her 2003 Nissan southbound on Route 9W in Ulster County near Central Hudson. According to the Daily Freeman, that is where she hit a man attempting to cross the road.

The 84-year-old victim, Bernard Smith, suffered a head injury and was transported to Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

Some have argued that the elderly should be given periodic road tests in order to keep their driver's licenses valid. Others say that they do not support taking away the driving privileges of seniors under any circumstances.

What do you think? Should the elderly's driving privileges be taken away if they prove to be a danger on the road?
