According to reports, A 5-year old boy has received a bill for missing his friend's birthday party.

5-year old Alex Nash from Torpoint, England was invited to a friend's birthday party, that was at a skiing and snowboarding facility.

Alex's parents told his friend's parents that he would attend the party, but later realized that they had already made plans for that day. So, Alex missed his friend's party.

A few days went by, and Alex came home from school and had an envelope in his bookbag with contained an invoice. The bill was from his friend's mother, for a "child's party no show fee". The bill was for about $24 (American).

The boy's parents thought that it was a joke, and they refused to pay the fee. The friend's mother is threatening to take them to court if they refuse to pay.

The boy's friend is now even refusing to play with him anymore.

The family is trying to resolve the situation.

Now, the boy's parents should have let them know that thier son could not attend the party, as it was at a facility, where I'm assuming you pay per child. So, I can understand the frustration of the the friend's mother. However, sending a bill to school with your child to give his friend, in my opinion is a little ridiculous. Then, to threaten court action, is a taking it a little far.

How do you feel about this? Do you feel this mother went to far? Leave your thoughts and comments.
