Thursday, May 14: Rock n Roll Birthdays

Happy Birthday today (May 14) to singer Ian Astbury of The Cult. He's 53. Also celebrating today is guitarist C.C. DeVille of Poison (53), singer David Byrne of Talking Heads (63) and bassist Mike Inez of Alice In Chains (49). In Remembrance, bassist Jack Bruce of Cream would have been 72 today.

Jack Bruce died of liver disease last year at the age of 71. He and Cream were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 and he ranked number 8 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of greatest bass players of all time.
