Police: Level-3 Sex Offender Arrested in Dutchess County
A level-3 sex offender was arrested in Dutchess County for failing to report a change of address and failing to verify his address every 90 days.
Police from the Town of Poughkeepsie have arrested 41 year-old Juan A. Rodriguez, a New York State registered Level-3 sex offender.
Rodriguez failed to report a change of address and failed to verify his address every 90 days, which is a violation of the New York State Corrections Law.
An investigation revealed that Rodriguez was residing at 45 Spackenkill Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie without reporting such. His last registered address was in the City of Newburgh.
The New York State Division of Justice Services designates an offender with Level-3 status when it has been determined that the person poses a “high risk of repeat offense and a threat to public safety exists”, according to a press release.
Rodriguez was previously convicted for failing to register as a sex offender in 2002. He was arraigned and remanded to Dutchess County Jail without bail.
He is due back in court at a later date.
