Police: 911 Call Leads to Felony DWAI & Drug Charges

A call was broadcasted by 911 of a complaint of an erratic driver, and it led to felony DWAI and drug charges.  

Lisa A. Cortina, 40, of East Fishkill was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree,  Felony, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.

911 broadcasted a complaint of an erratic driver around 8:30 p.m. Monday evening. State troopers located the vehicle described by 911 and conducted a traffic stop.

At the time of the traffic stop, it was discovered that Cortina was impaired by drugs. Following an investigation, it was revealed that Cortina was in possession of several zip-lock bags that contained Marijuana, Oxycodone, and Alprazolam.

Cortina was charged with felony DWAI due to a previous DWI charge from 2009.

She was arraigned and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail, or $15,000 bond.
