Orange County Sheriff’s Deputy Saves Another Suspected Overdose Victim
An Orange County Sheriff saved another person from a possible overdose Wednesday evening.
Orange County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a reported overdose in the City of Middletown. Sergeant Justin Butterfield arrived at the scene and found a 24 year-old female unconscious and not breathing.
Sergeant Butterfield recognized the signs, and knew the woman could be overdosing on an opioid. Sergeant Butterfield administered Naloxone, and the female regained consciousness and started to breathe on her own once again.
The woman was transferred to a local hospital for treatment.
This is not the first person Sergeant Butterfield has saved from a possible overdose. Just last week on Nov. 1 Sergeant Butterfield saved a Greenville man from an overdose by administering Naloxone.
I guess you can say Sergeant Butterfield is on a roll. Keep up the good work Sir!
Sheriff Carl E. DuBois said:
I commend Sergeant Butterfield on the actions he took to help preserve lives, these events show the current issues that law enforcement and our society face with regards to the current opioid addiction epidemic
