CHEEKTOWAGA, NY - A truck driver owes his life to a passing motorist with strong throwing arm, after his truck turned over and caught fire, after crashing on the Thruway.

Larry Coulter, was hauling a load of stones when one of his tires blew out, causing him to hit the guardrail, turning the truck over. The gas tank was punctured and the truck became engulfed in flames.

The driver was trapped in he cab of his truck. He tried to kick the windshield, but had no luck breaking it.

That's when passing motorist Ed Brunner came to the rescue. The truck driver said Brunner threw stones from the load at the windshield, cracked it, which allowed him to exit the cab of the truck, as reported by CBS 6.

Brunner then helped the driver out of the truck. Coulter called Brunner "my guardian angel."
