Police: Mother Turns In Son For Deadly Crime

New Orleans - A search for a suspect in a deadly robbery is over, and it's all thanks to the man's mother.

The suspect's mother turned in her son after learning about the robbery that took place at a Dollar General. Another suspect was shot dead by police at the scene.

A third suspect was arrested outside the store, earlier this week, as reported by CBS Albany. There were no officers or bystanders injured during the shooting.

The city's mayor Mitch Landrieu, applauded the mother in a statement:

I am very thankful to the mother of one of these young men who turned her son in. This is a great example of a parent basically understanding what is necessary to keep her child out of harms way. We were looking the third individual but this morning, he was brought in by his mother; and as I’ve said many, many times, the violence in this city is not going to stop until we all as a community take responsibility. Family's take responsibility and that we all work together to make sure it is a peaceful place for everybody
