Lets all take a moment of silence for this weekend's movies. Neither movie that looks like it should be great is looking anywhere near good. The two movies we're looking into are a comedy with Owen Wilson, Zach Galifianakis and Amy Poehler called 'Are You Here' and 'Sin City: A Damn to Kill For.'

First lets look at the comedy, with big names in this movie I would expect something amazing but I haven't even seen a trailer for it, basically I didn't know it existed...is that bad? As it turns out, no I shouldn't be ashamed; there's not much out there for this movie because, well, Meatcritic rates it a 30% and if that's not bad enough Rotten Tomatoes rates it a 7%. And to boot, its the first big-screen film from the creator of the award-winning show Mad Men. Critics are saying that everything that makes Mad Men great, from the humor to the character development is not included in this movie. Its a flop, wonderful.

Next, the movie I was actually looking forward to, the action/crime/thriller sequel, 'Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.' I very much so enjoyed the first 'Sin City' and so did many others, graphic novels turned to film seem to be an okay thing. If you were going to see a new movie this weekend, this one would be it. With stars including Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Eva Green and more it should be an action-packed-sex-filled movie. But according to come critics, this movie starts out great but then quickly starts to feel long and drawn out. Unfortunately everything I'm hearing is 50:50 and I'm just going to have to see it and make my own decisions.

This weekend, if you're not willing to chance it, instead of the movies, head to the fair, watch the Dr. Who premier or just do anything else. At least check out the trailers below and let me know what you think. Until next week (hopefully a better week) we'll MEAT at the movies.
