SPCA Westchester is hoping the public can help them put a name to a face in an animal abuse case.

Dog Abandoned Near Yonkers Cemetery

According to a post on the SPCA Westchester's Facebook page, back in November of 2025 a 1-year-old mix breed puppy was seen on camera being dumped in Yonkers.

The puppy, who is now named Frankie, was found at 44 Saw Mill River Road in Yonkers in the area of Oakland Cemetery.

Once Frankie was located he was rushed to a local animal hospital as he has sustained severe injuries. Frankie was found with "a deeply infected and painful laceration to his neck and throat, largely exposing his underlying tissue"

Now, SPCA Westchester is looking for answers.

Shannon Laukhuf, SPCA Westchester's Chief Executive Officer said in the social media statement "Without proper veterinary care, this sweet dog would have likely succumbed to his injuries."

There were also signs that Frankie was neglected "as he was extremely underweight."
