This looks like it could go really, really wrong!

I'm not sure why but over the last few years I've noticed that I often see things that others don't all over the Hudson Valley. I've shared a bunch of those observations over the years including, is this sign is necessary in Hopewell Junction, and what does this road sign mean. Most times after posting observations like those I'm on the receiving end of either answers or opinions to whatever I asked or I get hit in the gut by someone who wants to call me out for asking dumb questions...LOL!

No matter what response I get I'm extremely grateful that each person takes a minute to read and answer whatever I'm asking! This time around I would love to hear what you think about something I saw yesterday while I was driving in Wappingers Falls, NY.

This Doesn't Look Safe in Wappingers Falls, New York

Take a good look at the picture I took over the weekend while I was leaving my son's soccer game in Wappingers Falls...

That can't be the way any power line is supposed to look, right? I took the picture as I waited to pull out of Regency Drive onto All Angels Hill Road and as I looked up at the power line I thought to myself, "The folks living in that area are definitely going to lose power sooner than later." If you look closely it appears that a lot of the wires are exposed!

That can't be a thing for wires that have electricity following through them, right? We've had a ton of rain recently, so what happens if those wires get wet? I'm no rocket scientist but rain + electricity = disaster. If you live near these wires or in the surrounding area and lose power in the future this might be the reason why.

I don't live in the area but my kids do so I did send an email to Central Hudson to report the exposed wires but haven't heard anything back yet. Are wires like this dangerous? Have you ever seen wires like this before? Let us know through our station app above
