Hey Hudson Valley, upside down pineapples are out...and loofahs are in!

If you have no idea what we're talking about, let us break it down for you an explain.

Have You Seen Loofahs on Cars Here in the Hudson Valley?

There are some pretty weird things spotted on the roads across New York State.

There are strange roadside attractions, like that giant fork in the road in Tivoli and the L.L. Bean Bootmobile that was recently spotted on the New York State Thruway.

But have you noticed the trend of loofahs on cars? Some residents across the region have been spotting them recently, and while it looks rather harmless...there is a spicy meaning behind it.

What Does Having a Loofah on a Car Mean?

According to TikTok, such a reliable source, if you see a loofah on a car there's a reason for it.

That reason being, most likely, that whomever is driving the car is a swinger. Rumor has it that back in the day if you had an upside down pineapple in your home that was the indicator that you were into that kind of thing, however times are a changing.

Many credit The Villages in Florida, one of the largest senior living communities in the United States, for the loofah idea. How that idea found it's way to the Hudson Valley is behind me, but we do have a lot of snowbirds in the area...just sayin'.

Color Coded Loofah Chart, Different Colors Different Meanings

Recently, the New York Post shared a color coded chart that breaks down what each color loofah means.

There are different levels of swinging and different categories of interest. If you're into that kind of thing, take a peek below:
