Huge Movies Have Filmed in the Hudson Valley

Since as far back as 1982 when the movie company that produced the movie "Tootsie" staring Dustin Hoffman selected portions of Ulster County, NY to be the backdrop for parts of the cross-dressing Academy Award-nominated flick the Hudson Valley has become a hotspot for TV and movies.

So hot that over the years it's possible to lose track of how many shows and movies have come into the area to film but according to the Hudson Valley Film Commission in 2023 the Hudson Valley was on the receiving end of an estimated $52 million in spending revenues from filming. Not bad considering there was a Hollywood strike for parts of the year.
