Hudson Valley Presidents Day Snowfall Totals

Snow, sleet and freezing rain made for a messy end to the holiday weekend in the Hudson Valley. Nevertheless, snow accumulation didn't come near the up to 6 inches predicted for parts of the area.

The National Weather Service's unofficial snowfall totals indicated Ulster County saw the most precipitation from the Presidents Day storm, with 3.5 inches reported in Phoenicia and West Shokan. Kingston receive 2.2 inches of snow and Saugerties and Highland received 2 inches.

In Dutchess County, snow spotters in Red Hook and Hopewell Junction reported 2 inches of accumulation. Poughkeepsie saw 1.1 inches and Lagrangeville and Wappingers Falls received 1 inch.

In Orange County, where the heaviest snowfall had been anticipated, a snow spotter in Greenville reported 1.4 inches.

The snow shouldn't have a long shelf life, though: temperatures are expected to hover in the mid-50s for much of the day, with intermittent periods of rain throughout the day.
