A Hudson Valley has been charged with stabbing his wife during a domestic dispute outside of their home.

Lenard Best, 39, of Port Jervis was in possession of a folding knife, during the altercation. At one point during the dispute, his wife's hand was sliced by the knife. Best also repeatedly hit his wife in the chest and head with the butt of the knife, as reported by the Record.

Lenard Best was arraigned in Port Jervis Court on Tuesday, and sent to Orange County Jail on $25,000 cash bail, or $75,000 bond. Best is charged with second-degree assault, and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Both charges are felonies.

Best is scheduled to be back in court Wednesday morning.
