Hudson Valley Makes Weather History for Month of October

It was a record setting October in the Hudson Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, the Hudson Valley saw the warmest October ever recorded. Despite bone-chilling temperatures on Halloween night, the month ended with an average temperature of 58.5 degrees. That's a half degree higher than the previously warmest October recorded just ten years ago.

Local residents know that last month was a mixed bag of weather. Getting dressed in the morning was quite a challenge, with many days starting out chilly but turning unseasonably warm by the afternoon.

This September was also unusually warm, ranking the 9th warmest September ever in Poughkeepsie.

November is also off to a wacky start. This week's temperatures will be all over the place, with Wednesday expected to only hit 52. Thursday and Friday will see high temperatures in the 70s. After that they'll shoot back down to the 50s for the weekend.
