Your shopping days at a long-running Hudson Valley Kmart are numbered, as a local store is announced to be among 78 stores now closing.

Kmart will begin a liquidation sale on April 29. The store is expected to close its doors for good sometime in late July.

Sears, the parent company of Kmart, announced a long list of both Sears and Kmart stores that will be sold off. In New York there are two Sears locations and two Kmart locations that will be closing for good.

Back in February, Sears announced that they would be selling off their underperforming stores throughout the country. According to a press release, the company says that they took into account the historical and recent store performance of each location when deciding which stores to ultimately close down.

Sears locations in Irondequcit and Plattsburgh are scheduled to close in July along with Kmart locations in Rochester and Poughkeepsie.

The Poughkeepsie Kmart is listed as being at 838 South Road, which is in the former South Hills Mall, currently the Shoppes at South Hills. There is another Kmart located in Poughkeepsie on Dutchess Turnpike that will not be closing.

The South Road Kmart will begin a liquidation sale on April 29. The store is expected to close its doors for good sometime in late July.
