The Poughkeepsie Fire Department sent their boat, Marine 1, up from Poughkeepsie to battle the blaze from the river.

Chris Sekul, a recreational boater with over 20 years of boating experience, was on his craft the "One Night Stand" out of Norrie Point and provided pictures of the fire to the Hudson Valley Post.

The firefighters were joined at the scene by Sea-Tow, a marine unit from the Ulster County Sheriff's Office and one of the Dutchess County Sheriff's boats, Enforcer 1.

The boat sank as a result of the fire, the cause of which is currently unknown.
