Baby Found Dead in Hudson Valley Woods
After a tip from a Bronx woman, her 2-month-old child was found buried in the woods in Dutchess County
According to the Daily News, Alexis Feliciano from the Bronx has been arrested for murder after he allegedly buried the young child in Dutchess County near Kitchen Corner Road and Route 22 in Dover.
On Thursday, the child's mother told her psychiatrist that Feliciano, her boyfriend, had beaten and killed the 2-month-old child. She also confessed that the couple traveled to the Hudson Valley with the baby's body and buried it in the woods. Doctors notified the NYPD who traveled up to Dutchess County to search for the child's remains.
On Saturday afternoon the boy's body was found and charges were pressed against Feliciano. While local police assisted in the search, the NYPD has been leading the investigation. Security video allegedly shows Feliciano leaving his residence on December 10 with a duffel bag that police say contained the remains of the child. That is the day the child's mother says they traveled 50 miles north to bury the body. Reports say the couple stayed at Heidi's Inn in nearby Brewster.
Alexis Feliciano is waiting to be arraigned while an autopsy on the baby has been ordered to confirm the cause of death.
