Walkway Marathon Draws International Participation

Just like last year's inaugural event, this weekend's Walkway Marathon has attracted people from across the country and all over the world. 

More than 2,600 participants at all skill levels will visit Dutchess County this weekend for the 2016 Walkway Marathon. This weekend's events include the first ever “Think DIFFERENTLY” Dash for runners of all abilities, followed by the Walkway Marathon Health and Wellness Expo, and Sunday’s 5K, half-marathon and marathon races.

Ukrainian athlete Sergii Vashurin, one of the world's top marathon runners will be participating in the event. Vashurin is fresh off his victory at the Saskatchewan Marathon. Earlier this week, Sergii trained at Quiet Cove Riverfront Park alongside Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro, who is preparing to run his second Walkway half-marathon on Sunday.
